The Day Our Perfume Journey Began: A Memory, A Moment, A Movement
I never imagined that I’d be writing a story like this.
But here I am, sharing how a snowy afternoon in our kitchen changed everything.
It started with love..with a surprise.
One winter day, while the world outside was covered in snow, my husband Neerav sat me down at our kitchen table.
He had set up a tiny, thoughtful surprise: a DIY perfume workshop.
A few oils, glass droppers, blotter strips. Nothing fancy but everything intentional.
He guided me through the process: how notes work, how scent is structured, how perfume is composed like music. I had never done anything like it.
When I smelled the first accord I built with my own hands… I was stunned.
I felt something shift. Something awaken.
That moment, that stillness, that spark - is when Mitti Parfum was born.
We created this because nothing smelled like home.
Neerav and I both grew up around scent.
Not designer scent. Not luxury boutiques.
We grew up around ritual scent.
The scent of wet earth after the first rain..
The scent of rosewater in wedding silks..
The smoke of sandalwood rising in a temple..
The wild burst of jasmine in summer air..
But when we went looking for perfumes that smelled like that, we couldn’t find anything real.
The ones that tried felt flat. Imitated. Empty.
So we decided to do what no one else had done - make it ourselves.
A little back story- We began blending at home. Carefully. Quietly. Testing endlessly.
When we felt ready, we shared our earliest creations with friends and family.
Their reactions broke us open.
One friend said, “This smells like my nani’s sari.”
Another whispered, “This feels like I’m being seen.”
We cried.
That’s when we knew this wasn’t just perfume — it was personal.
It was memory. It was emotion. It was belonging in a bottle.
We didn’t start this with investors, labs, or perfume schools. We started with memory, with love.
Everything you see is us.
Mitti Parfum is a two-person creation, from soul to scent, from website to bottle.
• Neerav creates what you smell - each perfume note, each layered blend, every ingredient sourced with care.
• I (Ridhima) create what you see - the textures, the visuals, the color stories, the design, the poetry behind each name.
Everything on our site - from labels to copy, from packaging to design was built by our four hands.
We don’t outsource the soul of this brand. We live it. We love it. We build it, piece by piece.
What makes Mitti Parfum different?
We are not here to chase trends or replicate other brands.
